Self-adhesive bituminous tape, also known as asphalt repair tape or waterproofing bitumen tape, is a flexible sealing material composed of a rubberized asphalt compound coated with a pressure-sensitive adhesive on one or both sides. It is typically reinforced with polyester or aluminum foil for enhanced durability and tear resistance. The tape is protected by a removable silicone or plastic release liner to prevent sticking before application.

    • Align the tape and press firmly onto the substrate, starting from one end.
    • Use a roller or hand pressure to eliminate air bubbles and ensure full contact.
  4. Overlapping & Sealing:
    • Overlap edges by at least 2–3 inches (5–8 cm) for seams.
    • For corners or complex shapes, mold the tape smoothly and apply extra patches if needed.
  5. Finishing:
    • Inspect for gaps and reinforce with additional tape if necessary.
    • Avoid stretching the tape during application to prevent lifting over time.

Note: Ideal installation temperature is typically 10–40°C (50–104°F) for proper adhesion. In cold conditions, warm the tape slightly before applying.
